Farmville Secrets Review

Summary: Lots of great information – one of the best guides available.

Farmville Secrets is one of the best Farmville guides I’ve seen.  Flawless presentation combined with engaging pictures and information make you feel like you’ve gotten your money’s worth.   This is no hack job thrown together in half an hour; creator Tony Sanders has really put some thought into his guide.   It doesn’t have a whole lot of actual cheats or secret hacks, but it is chock full of useful information that will certainly help most players level faster, earn more farm coins and make make their friends jealous.

The Good News

This guide contains a lot of useful information presented in an accessible format.  The index allows you to quickly find the info you need and skip anything that you don’t.  The author also provides excellent discussion of a variety of topics that are often neglected, such as rot rate, ribbons/achievements, “Sharing the Wealth”, and neighbors.  The guide is useful both to beginners (he discusses how to begin from your very first crop) and high achievers who are trying to beat the game and/or achieve certain ribbons.   Versatility and quality are readily apparent.

The Bad News

If you had plans of getting rich quick, using secret cheat codes to unlock cow levels or completing the game in a couple hours, I’m sorry but you’re out of luck.   Farmville Secrets does, however, put a lot of information together in one place in an easy-to-use format.   One other drawback is the guide doesn’t include all of the most recent additions to the game.   This is understandable, though, as the game is updated all the time and any guide can only include what is available when it is written.  It would be nice if the writer released addendums to keep the guide updated as new things are added to the game.

Conclusion

This guide has lots of detailed information, it will almost certainly help all but the most advanced players, and it’s one of the best guides available.

FARMVILLE SECRETS		Useful information but doesn’t include any cheats or get rich quick tips.	Discusses the crop growth rate and rot rate in detail—but the chart form is a little lackluster.	One of the best guides available.
DOMINATE FARMVILLE	Excellent graphics and fairly good English, but wordy.	Lots of helpful general statements; not often specifics. Good charts and quick-level section.	The charts and graphics are absolutely top-notch. I especially like the picture of the Farmville cake!	I would buy it but not if I was impatient for the info. Could be better.
FARMVILLE MILLIONAIRE	At least 6 grammatical errors on the first page which is only 8 sentences long. Pictures.	Useful information presented fairly well. Attentive to details like Ribbons, etc.	Table of Contents highlights information for new players and power-levelers.	If you’re a millionaire, why can’t you afford grammar? Why!??
FARMVILLE DOMINATION	Excellent English, good charts, no screenshots.	Useful information but doesn’t include any cheats—you’ll have to dominate the game legally.	Nope.	Buy Farmville Secrets instead—it’s the same thing but with pictures.
FARMVILLE WIZARD	The cover gets half a star. Everything else is appalling.	States the obvious but maybe someone doesn’t realize you have to plant things??	Theory of Farmville—half a star for the pathetic “old grandmother” story	I think I’ll ask Gandalf for advice instead.
